Scholarships

* May 2026 – $3,000 Scholarship to be Announced

* May 2025$2,000 Scholarship Awarded to Marissa Gallegos.  Third time is a charm!  The third VHS Veterans Memorial Scholarship was received by Marissa Gallegos, VHS ’25, at the Honors Assembly.  She is attending the University of New Mexico with her goal being to serve the community as a nurse practitioner with a focus on Pediatric care.

* May 2024 – $1,500 Scholarship Awarded to Eliana Ramirez.  The second VHS Veterans Memorial Scholarship was received by Eliana Ramirez, VHS ’24, at the Honors Assembly.

* May 2023$1,000 Scholarship Awarded to Miranda Chavez.  The Inaugural Veterans Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 was received by Miranda Chávez VHS ’23 at the Honors Assembly. She wrote that she was inspired by her grandfathers (both were military veterans) to strive for excellence and to find a way to be of service to others.  Her service started at VHS, as she was voted senior class president. Graduating with a >4.0 GPA, Miranda was accepted at New Mexico State University where she hopes to lay the foundation for a career in health services. The names of the 12 young men who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country were read aloud, a solemn moment that we trust will become a tradition at Valley High School.
